John Neilan from tuesday coworking muses on the sustainability of desk-booking apps and their business models. This follows the recent announcement of local app Independesk going into bankruptcy. It’s argued that to make on-demand work for flex spaces, either a full-time member of staff is needed or platforms need to guarantee a minimum pay out each month.

π Occupancy distribution shifts from desks to meeting rooms #
Sandra Panara shares a snapshot from Relogix’s recent benchmark report, highlighting a shift in how occupancy of workspaces is distributed. In 2019 64% of workspace preferences leaned towards desks, this has shrunk to just 38% in 2022. Meeting rooms saw a 2.1x increase in preferences going from 16% to 35% in the same period.
