🤝 Are we asking (each other) the wrong first question?

Sarah Travers shares why "how many locations do you have?" is probably one of the worst ways to start a conversation with any coworking leader.

Sarah goes on to share why utilization, and repeat utilization in particular, are far better scorecards of how a coworking business is doing.

PS. Don’t be so hard on yourself Sarah, another CEO went so all-in that they renamed their business and deployed $70B into that business unit.

👋 More Info

I’ve spent the last 25+ years helping businesses grow and thrive by championing flexible workspaces that support how people actually live and work — and I’m not stopping anytime soon.

As CEO of Workbar, I wear many hats.
Some are what you’d expect: the real estate hat, the finance hat, the sales and marketing hat. But then there’s the mom hat, too: cheerleader, project manager, chauffeur, personal assistant.

Wearing all these hats has also earned me the title of Carpool CEO.

What I love about being the Carpool CEO is that it doesn’t force me to separate my “work life” from my “real life”. It acknowledges that I build around both — just like so many professionals in Greater Boston.

My mission at Workbar (and in life) is simple: create environments where work supports life, not the other way around. Because building environments where people and businesses can thrive in alignment is how forward-thinking businesses make work *work*.
