๐Ÿ“ A choose your own adventure guide to flex workspace

Hub Australia shared a creative piece of marketing via LinkedIn that helps potential customers understand what type of flex space products will best fit their specific needs. A great idea for operators out there that struggle with clearly defining the various flexible workspace options they offer.

As more and more occupiers search for flex solutions and operators continue to diversify products to include drop in options, private offices, event space and more, it’s understandable that prospects can easily get confused. On the one-hand this creative take helps empower the decision maker to have more confidence in their decisions, on the other remember when it was either get a membership or don’t?

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Solving a common problem with… opportunities

Every coworking space has to figure out what to put on all those walls, inside those corridors, within those meeting rooms and sometimes even in the restrooms. Hub Australia are approaching that challenge a little differently with an Artist In Residence program.

While they are not the first I’ve heard to do this (I do remember seeing something similar as far back as 2014 in some spaces in London), I do love the way they openly shares what’s in it for the artists (other than "the exposure"), including a grant, free year of membership and 100% of any sold artwork.

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ National operator partners with network of off-grid cabins

Hub Australia share a new partnership with Unyoked (a company that runs 100 luxury off-grid cabins around the world), aimed to help members ‘switch off’ and reconnect with nature.

Rebekah Murphy, the firm’s Chief Experience Officer, notes that more and more employees expect their employers to provide wellness and wellbeing support, so this partnership is one of many ways the network supports the health and wellbeing of their members. The partnership not only pulls in Unyoked’s expertise in stress relief into Hub’s workspaces, gives all members a 20% discount on cabins, but also gives the network 186 free nights that they’ll be using to run member support programs.

๐Ÿฅ™ What new product is eating serviced offices lunch in Australia?

John Preece from Hub Australia is successfully "stealing" my job by superbly summarizing another industry report, this time from Colliers.

In the report we get a new term "Hybrid-Flex", how this category grew by 17% by eating into what was traditionally "service offices". Also, 70% of tenants considering a new lease demand some form of flex options in the buildings. Landlord flex has (almost reluctantly) grown by 23% since last year. And the number of management agreements in Australia is up 2.2x since 2019.
