The UK’s House of Lords has shared their 144-page report from the Select Committee on Home-Based Working.
Why are we sharing it? Well firstly, this definition: "“Remote working” is where work is done from a location other than the employer’s workspace. This could include both the home and other locations, such as cafés or co-working (sic) spaces." And secondly, point 452 on page 100, where they briefly touch on how coworking improves effects of remote working ON local economies.

Jerome Chang summarizes a (frustratingly soft-gated) piece that looks into how 70% of real estate leaders at large corps were looking to add more space this year (up from 56% in 2024).

Fiverr and Illuminas partnered to release the 14th annual Freelance Economic Impact report in Dec 2025. The objectives of the report were to estimate the size and growth of the independent professional workforce in the United States as a whole, and in top markets, and provide information on the economic impact of this workforce.
"In 2024, there were an estimated 6.9 million skilled independent workers in the United States earning a combined $319 billion in revenue. Independent professionals represent 4.1% of the U.S. labor force, and their earnings comprise 1.1% of total U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024."

Like many coworking leaders, John Neilan shared a recap of tuesday coworking‘s 2025, including some key team changes.
But what’s different in this recap is that not only does John share the excel sheet of actual member counts over the last 2 years, but he also shares just how much annual revenue the growing network is bringing in (ps, it’s €530k, up 29% from €411k last year).
Another number that caught my eye? Through their Gender Pay Gap discount and 100% discount for all refugees, they’ve given out €28k in savings.

🧑⚖️ Convene acquires NeueHouse brand & ops #
Ryan Simonetti shares the news that Convene‘s parent group has acquired the NeueHouse brand out of their recent bankruptcy proceedings.
Further info: Under the terms of the court-approved Asset Purchase Agreement, CHG has acquired the brand’s intellectual property and the operations of the NeueHouse Madison Square location. There are no current plans to reopen the Los Angeles locations.

🇰🇪 Pan-African network consolidates some operations #
KOFISI shared that they’re refocussing on building a premium ecosystem of workspaces, shifting operations from some of their legacy buildings in Nairobi and towards their new, larger flagship Centers (like the one at KOFISI Kaskazi).
While another source notes that a $3.2M loss triggered the reconfiguration, the announcement shares that KOFISI are expanding in Rwanda and into GCC, and closed the first $10.5M of their $35M raise.
