Freedom Works Group has secured institutional funding from property firm Sixpenny Group Ltd to grow operational footprint (which also includes PLATF9RM brand) from 75k sqft to 230k sqft by 2027.

"This expansion aims to increase the total membership by 25% to over 7,000 and drive combined revenues of more than £7 million."

Jon Trigg shares that PLATF9RM and Freedom Works have announced multiple expansion projects across southern England. Freedom Works will launch a 30k sqft space in Leatherhead town centre, Surrey, opening early January 2026. PLATF9RM is expanding its Brighton city centre site with a 7th floor coworking cafe and rooftop venue planned for late spring 2026, which the company describes as offering the best views in Brighton.

In addition to expanding locations, PLATF9RM has also launched Start Smart Grow Strong workshops in Eastbourne on Tuesday, aimed at East Sussex startups and scaleups, with five free workshops available for East Sussex residents.

Not exactly from this week, but we’re not sure how we missed the news that Freedom Works bought PLATF9RM out of administration, keeping the lovely team of 26 employed and further supporting their existing community.

Back in 2023 I shared that Freedom Works would be launching their 10th location in sunny seaside town Brighton. This week they shared more details, and the location, of their new hub.

The 16,323 sqft location at Bartholomew House is setup through a 15-year partnership turnover lease (a form or revenue-share agreement) with Brighton and Hove City Council.

Jon Trigg shares that Freedom Works Ltd will also be expanding into Brighton. This will be their 10th space since opening 7 years ago in Worthing.
