Ben Northrop shared why, in a world full of integration options, Workbox opted for a managed approach to connecting their OfficeRnD and essensys Platform setups via Syncaroo.

Notably, the integration saves their community teams 10-20 minutes of extra work per new member, while also reducing the load (and stress) on their IT team as they scale.

Workbox announced its entry into Washington, DC’s Dupont Circle neighborhood, coinciding with Mayor Muriel Bowser’s reveal of a $26 million fund for DC-based technology companies.

Set to open in February 2025, the 29k sqft space will be the company’s first Mid-Atlantic location and 12th nationwide, offering workspace solutions for teams of 1-40 people along with access to capital partners and networking opportunities.

Workbox has announced its expansion to Pittsburgh with a new location on the 31st floor of One PPG Place in the city’s downtown area.

The company’s CEO John Wallace cited Pittsburgh’s collaborative business community and strong professional services industry as key factors in choosing the location. The new space, set to open in January 2025, will aim to provide local entrepreneurs and businesses with access to Workbox’s coworking community.

Workbox CEO John Wallace recently spoke with Commercial Property Executive on recent market moves, and his take is on the state of flexible workspace.

One highlight of this discussion is the focus on differentiation on the market. Much like hotels have luxury, business travel, long-term stay, all-inclusive and budget brands that focus on their target audiences, coworking and flex is starting to follow suit. Meaning, all office is becoming essentially flex by default, but what type of flex is dependant on who they serve. Enterprise-grade, events and meetings focused, small business focused, content production specific, or even warehousing for logistics and fulfilment.
