CoworkingCafe just released their quarterly report on the state of the coworking in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In it they share that the region now boasts 3,089 locations (2,718 in England, 202 in Scotland, 105 in Wales and 64 in Northern Ireland). Greater London still leads by size with 887 spaces, followed by Manchester with 74 hubs.

The national median price for dedicated desks sits at ยฃ210, with Brighton and Hove holding the highest median price at ยฃ310, and Newcastle and Sheffield at the other end of the price spectrum at ยฃ189. Open space median prices are ยฃ160 (ยฃ245 in Greater London). VO are ยฃ50 per month nationally, while Greater London has the highest median price at ยฃ100. Meeting rooms are listed at a median hourly rate of ยฃ25 at the national level, reaching as high as ยฃ46 / hour in Greater London.

Regus leads the pack regionally with 195 coworking spaces throughout the UK (with less than half of its national portfolio is concentrated within the 15 busiest coworking markets). Fora comes in second with 66 spaces nationally, 64 of which are concentrated in the top 15 markets โ€“ particularly London. With a similar distribution pattern, 55 out of Workspace Groupโ€™s portfolio of 57 coworking locations, are in the top 15 cities, predominantly in the London area. The Boutique Workplace Company comes in fourth with 40 and Spaces rounds out the top 5 with 39 coworking spaces.

Ireland has a total of 234 coworking spaces, almost half of which can be found in Dublin โ€“ 116. The top three operators in Dublin are Pembr, which has 18 coworking spaces, Iconic Offices with 12 spaces and Regus with 9 spaces.

CoworkingCafe‘s newly released quarterly report shows the state of the coworking industry in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In summary, the UK has 2,806 coworking spaces and Ireland has 210. Breaking those numbers down more, 2,460 are in England, 188 in Scotland, 102 in Wales, 56 in Norther Ireland. Digging deeper Greater London is the coworking capital with 788 spaces, Dublin boasts 101, and they’re followed by Manchester with 69.

In the UK, the national median price for a dedicated desk is ยฃ215p/m (ยฃ310 in Brighton and Hove), open workspaces ยฃ155 p/m (ยฃ250 in G.London), virtual offices ยฃ40p/m (ยฃ99 in G.London) and meeting rooms ยฃ25 p/h (ยฃ45 in G.London).

Within the top 15 UK cities, Fora runs 60 spaces, Workspace Group runs 55, The Boutique Workplace Company runs 38, WeWork 37 and Landmark 35.

In Ireland, the median dedicated desk price is โ‚ฌ299p/m in Dublin (โ‚ฌ280 nationally), open workspace desks โ‚ฌ200p/m and virtual offices for โ‚ฌ50 p/m (both nationally and in Dublin). Meeting rooms in Dublin come in at โ‚ฌ44p/h compared to the national median price of โ‚ฌ37.

The top three operators in Dublin are Pembr, which has 18 coworking spaces, Iconic Offices with 12 spaces and Workhub with 6 spaces.
