Richard Lawson pens a piece in Forbes about how investors are looking past WeWork troubles to place bet on coworking companies.
In it, we’re reminded that Bullpen Capital led the recent round into Switchyards, joined by Cercano Management and Overline. We also see that Radious is on the verge of closing another round, including from Robin Daniels (ex-WeWork CMO) and Nick Bloom, whilst similar-but-also-different Jarvo recently expanded from the UK into the US market with a NYC pilot.
I absolutely love that big publications are sharing that coworking is growing, investable and I hope that TWIC can be a bigger resource for journalists like Richard to tell more stories about brands like yours.

The Onfolk team (and others like them) use platforms like Jarvo to book houses for their teams to hang out and build together IRL. I love seeing more usage of different types of flex spaces, and am watching eagerly to see the usage of this against, or alongside, ‘traditional flex’ options in the long term.
As noted in the 2023 recap, what flex space looks like or will look like is in flux. Some may book homes, some may book private offices, others may book open plans, whereas an entire organization may have teams and individuals who leverage all depending on circumstances, projects and work styles.

The Jarvo team just shared that they hit their crowdfunding round in 42 seconds, snaking away the record from challenger bank Monzo who previously hit their target in 96s.
The platform’s target was £200k and has raised £325k (and climbing) from over 200 investors, with just under a month to go.

Daniel Hillman has shared that Jarvo is launching a crowdfunding round on Seedrs. Whilst the round is still in pre-registration mode, the platform has an interesting mission to make beautiful workspaces within private homes no more than 15 mins walk or cycle from their members’ doorsteps.
Whilst this can be seen as competitive to suburban coworking offerings, there’s definitely a lot of opportunity for collaboration around the kinds of spaces, amenities and services you may not be able to get from other peoples’ home offices IMHO.

Jarvo, which allows homeowners to share workspace within their neighborhoods, is launching into beta in the UK.
Love the focus on the ability to walk to work, and this seems to be a similar play to Codi’s original model in the US. Excited to see how this works in the UK and how/where it works with local coworking space operators.
