🕸️ Another case for workspace ecosystems
Joe Knopp at Pebble shares how their vision has changed from 10s of thousands of meeting pods across Expand 👇 the US, to just a few thousand deployed with precision at convention centers, airports, hotels and transit hubs.
Why? Because pods can go into places where "full" coworking offerings cannot. The real unlock in our opinion? Reciprocal memberships and networks across coworking spaces, pods, lounges, and hotels – truly allowing people to pick closer wherever works best at that time.

🇨🇭 The coworking story that led to a space launching at Zurich airport.
Great to take a look at Emanuel Forny’s coworking story. From banking, to founding Tessinerplatz in Expand 👇 2018 in Zurich, to being closed out due to the pandemic, to creating Novu Campus in collaboration with Novu Office, Memox and Swisspreneur opening in 2025 at Zurich Airport.

🛫 Are airports the perfect coworking place (for some)?
Business Traveler looks into the growing trend of remote workers holding meetings on the go from Expand 👇 newly designed terminals and lounges. They note that the number of flex workspaces within airports has grown 100% year-on-year since 2021 (via CoworkIntel), that Jabbrbox is growing, and that the operator of Priority Pass shared that "working space to plug in and focus" was one of the top choices of what travelers are willing to pay for.
Just like retail bringing in flex workspaces, increased footfall that hangs out for a little longer can mean big spikes in long-term revenues of surrounding retailers, and therefor chargeable rents. Makes sense to me.

🛫 A look at how airports are supporting remote work
Merche Blanco Garcia shared 4 shifts in how airports are adopting coworking space (or coworking-like Expand 👇 amenities) to support remote workers on-the-go. Interesting to see how Schipol, Dubai, São Paulo and airports around the US are exploring drop in workspaces for travelers. As employers explore ways to for their teams to access/book/leverage more spaces worldwide, this will be part of the puzzle that may sway decision making at the corporate level.
