A new makerspace called Brooklyn Spark is opening in mid-March near the Jefferson L stop in Bushwick, offering affordable membership-based access to specialized equipment for artists.

The volunteer-run facility will include tools like a table saw, kiln, sewing machines, laser cutter, and 3D printer available to members 24/7 after completing safety orientation. Initially limiting membership to about 60 people to ensure equipment availability, the space will cost $165 monthly with early member discounts, addressing the challenge many local artists face in finding affordable creative spaces in New York City.
