The Social Hub, originally founded as The Student Hotel in 2012, has opened a new space in Toulouse, France.

The location follows the company’s hybrid model combining student accommodation, hotels, coworking, dining, cultural programming, and events under one roof across its 19-city European network including Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and Vienna. The coworking space offers daily passes and flexible monthly memberships of 1, 6, or 12 months, with members gaining access to additional facilities including onsite dining, gym, rooftop pool, and event programming such as debates and workshops.

The Social Hub has opened a massive new location in Rome, investing €114 million to transform a former railway customs house into a 24k sqm hybrid hospitality complex.

The development features a coworking space for 160 professionals, a four-star hotel with 396 rooms, meeting areas, dining facilities with a rooftop bar, and will include a 10k sqm public park opening this summer.

The B-Corp club gets another member this week, with The Social Hub announcing their certification.

Trending Topics highlights that The Talent Garden have decided to close their Vienna location due to the "unacceptable condition of the building". The space, which has been closed since May 7th due to water damage, had been redirecting their members to other hubs (like The Social Hub, Startup House, WeXelerate or CoWerk) while members waited to see if they’d reopen after repairs.

The firm then notified members that after an inspection, and the landlord’s refusal to put the building in the agreed condition, they were forced to terminate their tenancy agreement with immediate effect.

Mews share that they’ve raised a significant round (with a $1B+ valuation) into their company that builds and manages the tech used to manage over 350,000 hospitality spaces by 5,000 customers worldwide including hotels and hybrid work/stay companies like The Social Hub.

Although focussed on serving the hotel and traditional hospitality sector, they do mention coworking (albeit spelt incorrectly) on their homepage. So expect to hear more from them.
