OfficeRnD has announced two new integrations for flexible workspace operators: a Stripe Terminal integration enabling on-the-spot payments and card capture for invoices and recurring charges, and an automated SaltoKS integration that marks members without active memberships as "unsubscribed" to reduce manual work and costs.

Christian Schmitz, Shared Workspace Lead for SALTO shared a recap of his experience attending FLC FES, a two-day coworking event in Okinawa, Japan organized by Yuta Aoki, founder of the Japan Coworking space and Community manager organisation (JCCO). The event took place in Koza Shopping Arcade, which is undergoing regeneration led by Four Cs Inc. to attract startups.
A subsequent report revealed that 42% of Japanese coworking operators are significantly profitable, with larger spaces in cities over one million population performing best, while rural spaces face more challenges despite often receiving government funding.

Salto introduced Orion a single-sourced face recognition access control solution, requiring only the user’s face as a credential.
Interestingly, it seems to use technology similar to Apple’s Face ID to set up and then access physical spaces. It deff makes it harder to get locked out, but we’re curious about how this works in higher traffic access points or where tailgating is possible.
