There’s a huge amount of thankless effort, pain, passion and struggling that goes into coworking.
Against a backdrop of the pandemic that wreaked havoc across the sectors, we’ve seen the truly heroic levels of love, sweat and tears that have been poured into coworking from those owning, running and marketing communities; to those building the software, utilities and networks that support these communities; to those making strides to make the whole industry more inclusive, diverse, sustainable, interconnected and collaborative.

A new publication (in German) was added to the Coworking Library sharing numerous examples of new places of work in the rural areas, user types and their working methods, (business) models, motives for setting up a business and other trends.
🖥 IWG launches new virtual community for “home workers”.
IWG recently introduced a new platform inviting home-workers into a free virtual community, strategically placing access to their meeting rooms and drop-in workspaces as a perk.

The European Coworking Assembly shared more information about DICE and their event certifications around inclusion and diversity.

A report by Colliers International, and covered by Nicholas Rizzi (Commercial Observer), shares some interesting forecasted trends. Projected increases in: flexibility to work closer to home, growth in landlords stepping into flex, secondary markets and landlord-operator partnerships.
🔥 TownSq continues expansion and a new acquisition.
The coworking and business-support network celebrated their 3rd anniversary with new launches in Rhyl, Chester and Devon; the appointment of new senior appointments, internal promotions; the acquisition of a virtual admin co; and a joint venture with a coffee shop chain.
🎁 More promotion of coworking gift cards.
We’re so excited about the global GiftWorkspace campaign (covered in last TWIC), that’s free for workspaces, platforms, brokers to join in.
Gift cards & social media posts shared with the #GiftWorkspace hashtag on instagram and twitter will now also be highlighted right onto the homepage via a moderated feed.
This makes it even easier to find coworking access, passes or bundles to give to loved ones, friends and colleagues who need to get out of the house as gifts for Christmas, birthdays, new years and new business or career changes.
