🎉 Nonprofit acquires property for building rural Community Hub

After two years of work and partnership building – not to mention 7.5 years of operating a small rural coworking space – nonprofit Sierra Shared Spaces has acquired the land to build an innovative Community Hub in the mountain town of Lake Isabella in Kern County, California. The project is led by Justin Powers of Kernville Cowork with support from Ashley Proctor of Creative Blueprint.

🍁 Industry pioneer reflects on 2 decades supporting coworking

Christian Schmitz from SALTO interviewed Ashley Proctor on the occasion of her marking two decades in the industry in addition to the upcoming Coworking Alliance Summit. Beginning with Xpace in 2004, one of Canada’s first coworking spaces, Proctor went on to found Creative Blueprint, develop multiple coworking alliances, and launch significant projects including the world’s first Coworking Health Insurance Plan and the 105,000-square-foot 312 Main community hub in Vancouver.

As co-founder of the Coworking Alliance Summit, she reinforced the importance of maintaining the movement’s core values of community, collaboration, openness, accessibility, and sustainability while adapting to accommodate both independent workers and corporate teams in this evolving landscape of flexible work.
