It’s bittersweet to announce that on January 26th I will close the door on my tenure with Common Desk. Reflecting on the journey feels surreal. What started as a dream twelve years ago, has blossomed into a thriving community and enough magical experiences to fill a lifetime. Common Desk now occupies just shy of 1 million square feet, is credited for being one of the best international coworking brands, and is still innovating new ways to provide “daymaking” experiences to our customers. It's living proof that one of our first big Common Desk murals of a Tupac quote, "Reality is wrong, dreams are for real," ring true. To Common Desk’s remarkable members: You are the heart and soul of Common Desk. Your unwavering loyalty, even through the toughest of times like 2020, has fueled our journey and made every sacrifice worthwhile. Thank you for being so supportive of us over the years. I leave you in the best of hands moving forward. To Common Desk’s visionary landlords: You took a chance on a young, untested company, and your belief in our dreams fueled our growth. We are forever grateful for your partnership. To my phenomenal staff: You are the true definition of "daymakers," in the best way possible! Your high energy, insatiable spirit, and unwavering "do what it takes" attitude have been the backbone of our success. You are not just colleagues; you are friends, family, and lifelong companions. To WeWork: You saw the magic in Common Desk, and your support has allowed us to continue nurturing that magic on a grander scale. I'm grateful for the partnership we’ve had and I have the utmost confidence in them to lift Common Desk into its new chapter. To my family and friends: You were my pillars of support, especially during those sleepless nights and moments of doubt. Katie Jo, thank you for convincing me to put the first location in Deep Ellum then trusting (for a decade) that this would pan out, allowing so much time to be invested in this one thing. Mom, I needed your drive and confidence boosting words to get those first few build outs across the goalline. Dad, our dinners during some of the toughest times of the business kept me falling forward. Thank you all for being the champions of my goals and dreams. I’ll continue to be a fan and a patron of Common Desk as it continues its journey alongside WeWork. The coworking industry and office-as-an-asset class needs these brands to continue to be at the forefront of innovation and hospitality. While I’m excited to get to work on what’s next, there will be no way to recreate the magic of Common Desk. There are certain things or memories in life that simply can’t be recreated, and this is one of them. To everyone that made this dream for real, my family and I are forever grateful.

Nick Clark you made your mark and your jersey better be retired and hang from the rafters above that Tupac quote. Your officially a future hall of famer in the Coworking world. I know how it feels to let go of your baby. However, I also know how it feels to have the entire world's doors open up for you. That is precisely what's happening at the moment for you. There's a magic there that can't be replicated.
