Deskimo (part of Y Combinator‘s current batch) has launched in Singapore & Hong Kong. The app caters to people who usually work from home, but occasionally need a place nearby where they can get away from distractions or take meetings. Their business model is to charge employers for the time their workers use the space, instead of monthly or yearly fees.

The team at Narau are introducing a ‘Black Card’ which gives its holder 6 months of free access to over 400 locations on their app. It’s only available through a prize draw for folks who refer people to use their app.
As I’ve always wanted a Nandos Black Card (and for a Nandos to open in NYC) I love this idea of bundling referrals, workspace access and a black card.

Essensys shared that they’ve raised βΒ£30M (β$41M) through a primary share placing. The company, who’s listed on London’s AIM, said it would use the proceeds to accelerate the company’s growth strategy and product development.

π’ IWG gobbles up 5 ex-WeWork locations as demand soars.
5 of IWG‘s newest 8 locations are ex-WeWork locations in New York, London and Jakarta. The owner of Spaces and Regus is also said to have shared that in June demand for such locations was up 14% from pre-pandemic levels.
