🇦🇪 A look at coworking growth in the UAE
This local piece looks at three data sets re: coworking growth in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Firstly, Expand 👇 there’s a huge variety of options with affordable spaces and lux options ($40.8k+ p/year to use). Second, a free zone dedicated to digital commerce in Dubai partnered with IWG to launch a Spaces location there. And thirdly, local desk-booking platform Letswork boasts over 55,000 users across the region and Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Spain and Portugal.
🎨 Dubai-based space booking platform rebrands
Letswork, who bill themselves as ‘a subscription platform and marketplace for places to work, meet Expand 👇 and create, on-demand’ (and who I’ve covered before) have rolled out a rebrand and new app as they aim to scale globally.
🎟 Another booking app shifts to credit system
Letswork have shared that they’re switching to a credit-based system instead of charging per Expand 👇 booking. I’ve been watching this trend for a while and always gathering feedback on how well/badly the unit economics around credits convert into revenue for workspace providers. If you participate on a credit-based platform, I’d love to hear your thoughts around what you like/dislike about it.
