Justin Raymond from Flexday shares that (finally) more and more landlords and operators are leaning Expand πŸ‘‡ into fractional offices, having been one of the early pioneers of the category with Flexday Suites back in June 2022.
"Examples include Oxford Properties and their OxWorx initiative, MRP in DC and their HeyDay product, Tram Developments working with Cushman & Wakefield brokers to market fractional offerings and even iQ Offices and their new Sprint Spaces – now available though Flexday."
πŸ“² Booking app doubles down on day offices
In another fractional office play, Justin Raymond and Flexday share that they’ve made it easier for Expand πŸ‘‡ teams to find and book day-offices (or what they call Flexday Suites).
The pay-now or lease checkout is interesting, but as mentioned elsewhere in this newsletter, don’t sleep on fractional offices.
πŸ“± Canadian operator partners to offer 3rd party space access
Justin Raymond and Kane Willmott share how/why iQ Offices and flexday are working together to help Expand πŸ‘‡ members of the former access 3rd party spaces through the latter.
From what I hear/see, this seems to be a similar deal to what WeWork and Upflex announced in w6/22. Excited to see this work in Canada, and beyond.
πŸ•£ Booking platform adds part-time office offering
Tushar Agarwal shares that Hubble are adding a new product called "Part-Time Offices" Expand πŸ‘‡ which lets businesses rent an office for just 2 or 3 days a week. Although this pilot is limited to 100 businesses, they do have plans to roll it out wider soon.
Trend note: As Justin mentions here, there is a growing trend of "fractional offices" bubbling up as we’re also seeing similar plays from platforms like Flexday in Canada, and Codi in the US.
I’m curious if these are shared between businesses, or still powered by the many flex providers who work with the platform. I’ll keep an eye on this for you.
