joe Burns shares Yardi‘s announcement that they’ve launched their own coworking-focussed listing platform called CoWorkingCafe.

The firm, who’s no newcomer to listing platforms they’ve built or acquired, says the platform is designed to enable real-time bookings for conference rooms and private offices for spaces running Yardi Kube, their flex space management system (previously known as WUN Systems).

This follows their recent acquisition of CoworkingMag, and highlights that the firm is investing heavily into flex and coworking solutions.

Ben Lerner of M&A frim Lerner Associates, shared that Yardi Systems have acquired CoWorkingMag.

This one’s definitely interesting and not one I predicted. Even though, it’s not unprecedented if you look back at IWG/Instant‘s move in acquiring Coworker, and in-turn the online publication CoworkingInsights.

A panel of flexible workspace experts discussed what steps operators are taking to meet the changing needs of occupiers as we emerge from the pandemic.

On the panel were Jules Barker (WiredScore), Niki Fuchs (Office Space in Town), Natasha Morris (Landsec and Myo), Paul Orrock (Yardi), John Williams (The Instant Group), Jack Williamson (Workthere) and was chaired by Simon Creasey (Property Week).

Topics discussed: flex demand bouncing back, types of demand, ESG, technology, and the future of flex.

WeWork and Yardi are partnering up to build a merged offering to help "companies to offer their employees the ability to seamlessly book a desk, private office or conference room in any company-leased or owned office space, any WeWork location, or any affiliate of WeWork."

This is a very interesting move, following the news that the former had signed their first enterprise tech client in w4/22 and their recent deal with Upflex announced in w6/22.
