Darren Rogers shares that IWG are opening four new flex workspaces in Hong Kong, bringing their total to 21. One of the spaces was a former Ucommune location.

Stanna Palazova shares that Mitsubishi Estate is taking over IWG’s master franchise agreement of 172+ Spaces, Regus, Signature and HQ locations in Japan.

Matt Going from Anytime Mailbox has announced Anytime Kiosk, which lets members and guests of flex spaces self-ship packages up to 33lbs (15kg).

The kiosks ran through pilots at IWG locations in the US and Singapore, can drive new revenue for space operators and can be positioned as an automated amenity for members who need to ship items out.

Herman Knevel shares an announcement from IWG about a partnership with Nornorm to redesign its offices, starting with its high-end Signature brand and Spaces locations.

The latter designs workplace furniture and rents it on a subscription basis. Founded on the idea of maintaining, refurbishing and reusing furniture, the startup allows customers to change their fitouts or scale them up and down as needed.

Jonathan Wright, the Director of Flexible Workspace Consulting for Colliers Asia, notes that we can expect more M&As across flex and coworking spaces in Hong Kong, as restrictions are eased and business return from over two years of working from home.

Examples of investment and M&As include: the Hysan + IWG JV (orig shared back in w32/21), theDesk acquiring Jumpstart Business Centre, and the Executive Center being bought out by Tiga Investments and KKR.
