Proximity has appointed Mike Flanagan as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Flanagan brings 35 years of experience in commercial real estate amenities, having served as a Strategic Advisor for Arch Amenities Group and CEO of LifeStart. This strategic hire comes at a time of significant growth for Proximity, with millions of square feet under management and further expansion planned for 2025.

Mike LaRosa shared a recent post by Coworking Whistler in a Facebook group about the near-immediate impact implementing coworking space management software had on their business.

In short, they achieved a 200% increase in short-term booking revenue within two months of implementing Proximity, transitioning from manual operations to automated systems. In 2025, there are still a number of indie operators forgoing implementing tech.. and evidently revenues.

A unique approach to combatin loneliness is emerging through Pie, a social app (founded by Andy Dunn, who founded Bonobos) that’s specifically targeting coworking spaces and other professional communities in San Francisco. The platform differentiates itself from traditional networking apps by focusing on facilitating genuine in-person connections, using AI-powered matching to connect members based on professional interests and proximity.

Early trials have shown promising results and the firm has introduced a ‘creator fund’ to support people who are building IRL communities. (Pssst.. sounds like many coworking spaces could collab/explore this)

The team at Spacebring have just released two new "helper" apps, for both Apple and Android devices. The first is Meeting Room Display, which is a color coded room screen to can help members quickly glance at which resources are available now or in the next hour – while also allowing for easy bookings. The second is a Reception App to facilitate guest experiences at the bottleneck that is the front-desk.

While there are a lot of standalone options for both apps, we are seeing a battle heating up for both areas of your space with new/revamped apps recently announced by OfficeRnd, Proximity and Nexudus.

Josh Freed, CEO of Proximity announced that the company has recently been chosen by a real estate portfolio covering 1.4M sqft to enhance tenant utilization of conference rooms, across the entire portfolio. The platform will power visitor management, access control integrations, occupancy verification, room scheduling tablets, air quality sensors and booking.

We’re seeing more and more traditional CRE owners look for solutions to manage and deliver space on a fractional basis, rather than leasing to third party operators. Congrats to the Proximity team on this big win.
